It's weird. I look around this website and see other deviants' pages, and so many of them have taken advantage of all the changes that have occurred over the past few years. The extensive customization of the page layout and style, journal embellishments, ordering of deviations, the ability to block comments from others (which, back in the day, was a huge argument on the Complaints forum), and using all those other nifty features available to us now. Hell, people have Twitter feeds on their pages! But I use none of them.

Don't get me wrong, some of these pages are awesome. They're well put together, well organized, attention getting, and thought out. It just kind of trips me out. I'm that kind of person who stops by for a while, and then just kind of fades away for a long time. I've been here seven years now, and I was even an admin once upon a time. So when I've been gone for a year or so and I show back up, it's like going back to a place you used to live in. It's still totally familiar to you, but there are all these little changes that take you by surprise. You mean I get to preview my forum posts?!

I feel so terribly old school, but I just can't help it. This place was my home for years, and I still come and visit it. I can't think of many other things that I go back to time and time again, even after seven years. And sometimes it's nice to have it look mostly like it used to. For me, at least.
